Why I'm really here

As I put in my last post, both the hubby and I are pretty much starting over on our weight loss challenge.  I believe part of it is due to the holidays, and the recent decline in my health.  But really I can't excuse the lack of motivation that we both have.  That has TONS to do with it.  We definitely need all the support and encouragement we can get!

Both Adam and I have both different and similar bad habits.  First, we're always out and about.  So it seems like fast food has been quite the friend to us.  I have avoided that at all cost lately.  And when we have to, I try to look up the "healthier" foods before going out.  My true weakness seems to be  sweets, while Adam's is definitely pizza!  We're both terrible at eating portioned dinners.  But, I bought smaller plates to help us out with that!

My true goals really, are not only to live a healthier life.  But, to be able to run after my 4&6 year old with out feeling winded after a couple of sprints.  I want to look sexy.  Not only for Adam, but for myself too ; )  I turn 29 in May, and by the time I turn 30 (I know it's awhile, but time goes by fast), I want to feel like myself again.  Those are just a few of my goals!  I can think of so many more!

So, do any of you have bad habits?  And if so, what are they?  Also, how do you keep motivated when you feel yourself backsliding?

  1. Don't start over, just continue. There will be many more holidays and these days will surely be a struggle for you two and others too. But just continue with the journey. I too have gained 4lbs during the Christmas weekend but after that I continued with my healthy journey and lost it again. We are here to encourage and support you two. Just keep going.

  3. Good old self-discipline is my fall back because I know regardless of how I feel, I'm going to need self-discipline to actually get down what I need to get done. My other secret weapon is choosing physical activities that are also fun. I absolutely relate to being out and about and busy. When my husband and I know we're going to be out of the house all day running errands, we eat a lighter breakfast then choose a restaurant to stop at that we know will have something good and nourishing for us to eat (in other words, no fast food or chain restaurants) -and- we make sure to budget our calories so that we won't have overeaten that day. The next morning after a day like that we also make sure to go running in the morning. That helps too. :)
